Jeremy Lux brings more than 30 years of automotive industry experience to his role as Portfolio’s CEO. He began his career with Miller Automotive Group and later Group 1 Automotive, where he advanced from general sales manager at Los Angeles’s Miller Nissan to chief administrative officer and corporate finance director for Miller Automotive and general manager and market director for Group 1. Prior to joining Portfolio, Lux served as market president for AutoNation from 2014 to 2019 and president of AndersonAutos from 2020 to 2023.
As CAO, Lori Hallissey helps ensure the Portfolio experience is truly best-in-industry for dealers, independent agents and consumers. Her prior experience includes Allstate Dealer Services, where she served as vice president of operations and customer experience and led a large team that managed all aspects of VSC, GAP and ancillary product administration. Lori also served as senior vice president of administration for the asset protection division of Protective Life, responsible for managing new and in-force business and all claims activities.
Casey Van Schoyck joined Portfolio as chief risk officer to establish a robust risk management function and lead the compliance department. She has developed respected professional expertise in both the insurance and financial industries with experience in product development and insurance as well as risk management and compliance. Casey formerly managed multiple lender, OEM and third-party administrator accounts as a product manager for Great American Insurance Co. She earned a BS in business management and speech communications from Baldwin Wallace University.
As CFO, Robert Dickey leads Portfolio’s investor relations efforts and financial reporting, forecasting and analysis operations while also overseeing all accounting department functions. His prior experience at Protective Life involved improving risk management, increasing transparency and compliance and streamlining reinsurance and accounting procedures. Robert is a licensed Certified Public Accountant and Chartered Global Management Accountant. He holds a BS in accounting from the University of Florida and an MBA from Maryville University.
Sora Kim brings a legal and business background to her role as general counsel for Portfolio. Her areas of expertise include commercial transactions, collaboration with and management of outside counsel and executive management, and underwriter and stakeholder relations. Sora earned a JD with a concentration in business law from Temple University, an MBA with a concentration in risk management and insurance from California State University, Fullerton, and a BA in political science from The George Washington University. She is licensed to practice law in California, Pennsylvania and New Jersey.
Ryan Hanlon is a seasoned reinsurance management executive and has worked with Portfolio in various capacities since 2004. After leaving the retail car business in Los Angeles, he began his reinsurance career with Cartel Marketing, in Encino, CA. From 2004-2008 he was mentored by Portfolio’s founder and original Managing Directors and served as Reinsurance Manager for the agency. From 2008 thru 2021, Hanlon formed, built and scaled Rainmaker Advisory, LLC; a boutique reinsurance management firm which worked with families which own Auto, RV, and Powersport Dealerships. Simultaneously, thru Rainmaker, Hanlon served as Reinsurance Specialist, National Reinsurance Specialist and as of 2018; Managing Director within Portfolio. In December 2021, Ryan sold Rainmaker Advisory to Brown & Brown (NYSE:BRO), a large strategic acquirer in the industry. Following that, Hanlon served as Executive Vice President, West Coast for Brown & Brown Dealer Services. In that role, Hanlon assumed responsibility for organic growth in the West, building an income development and compliance training team, and oversaw the continued management of approximately 150 microcaptive reinsurance companies. In April 2024, Ryan had the opportunity to come back to Portfolio as Chief Sales Officer. As CSO, his responsibility includes overseeing and implementing Portfolios sales growth plan in all markets, maintaining a product suite that serves our dealer and their customers needs, and the company’s overall strategic focus for delivering the best value proposition in the industry. Hanlon has authored two white papers on reinsurance, “Opportunity at Risk” and “The RV Dealer’s Guide to Reinsurance” and spoken on reinsurance at venues such as at Agent Summit and AICPA.
COO Andrew Seger leads Portfolio’s administration, client experience and logistics, technology, marketing, project management and legal and compliance teams. He served as chief legal officer at NAE/NWAN from 2013 until its acquisition by Portfolio in 2020. He has also worked as in-house counsel at a medical device manufacturer and at a law firm advising insurance companies on coverage and litigation matters. He graduated magna cum laude from the University of Toledo College of Law after earning a BA in business administration, management and operations at Wright State University.
As vice president of claims, Neil Payne manages every aspect of Portfolio’s multistate claims operation. With a focus on synergies, efficiencies and technology, the 30-year claims administration veteran is responsible for uniting multiple teams and departments in pursuit of maintaining Portfolio’s high standards for dealer support and customer satisfaction.
Alissa Wells brings 20 years of experience to her role as vice president of reinsurance. She joined Portfolio’s cessions team in 2003 and, in 2005, created the Reinsurance Finance Department to manage loans, dividends, surplus transfers and novations. A promotion to director of reinsurance expanded her scope to cover risk management, including product, dealership and reinsurance company analysis. She was named to the VP role in 2021 and now serves as a trustee on all reserve accounts.
Gabriella Roberts is vice president of client experience for Portfolio. Prior to joining the company, Gabby served as senior VP of client relations at Warrantech, helping the firm to implement the General Motors program and providing oversight of the client relations team. She brings over 25 years of experience in the insurance and automotive, RV and powersports space. Her background includes positions in sales, training, underwriting and client management. She has implemented and managed service contract programs for an extensive list of administrators, retailers and manufacturers. Additionally, Gabby has a BSBA from Barry University and is a John Maxwell Leadership Program-certified coach.
As vice president of sales and marketing, Tanya Stevenson built and continues to lead Portfolio’s product development and product marketing teams. Together they have launched dozens of new products at the leading edge of innovation, all with diverse input from the field and within strict compliance standards. She has negotiated and secured key vendor relationships and led the larger part of the company’s underwriting initiatives. Tanya also oversees all support functions for Portfolio’s agent representatives and regularly joins them for F&I and dealership training nationwide.
As vice president of sales, Chad Millspaugh leverages 20 years of retail, training, and management experience to lead a team dedicated to delivering industry-leading reinsurance and F&I programs. Millspaugh joined Portfolio in 2021 following the acquisition of NAE/NWAN, where he served as a director since 2017. He has also held roles in F&I income development, wealth building, and as a dealership general manager.
As vice president of information technology, Mark Slyder leads Portfolio’s strategic and operational IT initiatives, global cybersecurity and the evaluation and deployment of future technology platforms utilized companywide. He brings more than 20 years of experience leading technology innovation and digital transformation strategies in the telecommunications, insurance, manufacturing and auto industries. Mark previously served as enterprise IT director at SmithFoods, helping the firm accelerate their Industry 4.0 transformation through MRP, data warehouse and SCADA system implementations. He earned his BS in management information systems from Miami University.
As chief accounting officer, Melanie Gionet leads Portfolio’s investor relations efforts, financial reporting, forecasting and analysis operations. With over 20 years of business and accounting experience, she focuses on strategic alignment and process optimization for the company’s consolidated financials. Melanie oversees the nationwide accounting, reinsurance and finance teams, ensuring exceptional service to support agents, dealers and stakeholders. Her background includes expertise in the powersports industry, specializing in floorplan financing and inventory management. Melanie holds a BS in business administration with an accounting concentration from Pepperdine University.
Avery Zuck joined Abry in 2016 and is a member of the Financial Services and Technology team. He is responsible for analyzing new investments, working with portfolio companies and supporting sale transactions. Prior to joining Abry, Avery was a member of the investment team at Bain Capital Credit, where he was involved in a variety of control equity, mezzanine and senior debt investments. Previously, he was an investment banking analyst at City Capital Advisors. Avery graduated from the University of Notre Dame in 2011.
Hope S. Taitz is currently the CEO of ELY Capital. After graduating with honors from the University of Pennsylvania, majoring in economics and concentrating in marketing, she began her investment banking career with Drexel Burnham Lambert, then continued as a vice president at The Argosy Group (now part of CIBC) and a managing director at Crystal Asset Management before founding her own money management firm, Catalyst Partners. Now acting as an investor and advisor with expertise in media, technology and the consumer, she helps innovative enterprises grow through financial leadership and connections to established corporations.
Steve Burke founded Portfolio in 1989 on the then-groundbreaking principle of delivering a true ownership experience to dealer clients. The next three decades were spent building the Portfolio team and distribution system into the industry leader in reinsurance expertise, performance and reporting, earning perennial recognition in the Dealers’ Choice Awards and two IRS Technical Advice Memoranda that helped cement reinsurance as a critical component of a successful dealership enterprise. In addition to serving on Portfolio’s executive board, in his retirement, Steve has dedicated himself to his family, world travel and crafting custom instruments for discerning guitarists.
Kelly Price is the former CEO of National Automotive Experts and NWAN, the company she founded in 1996 and grew into a leading F&I products provider and administrator. In 2020, she sold the company to Portfolio, where she subsequently served as executive vice president of strategic ventures. Her dedication to creating “happy, healthy humans” includes extensive charitable and philanthropic efforts on behalf of those in need throughout Northeast Ohio.
After a successful career in retail automotive, Greg Hoffman formed Resources Management Group, a dealer profit development, training and consulting business. He was part of the founding team of the Portfolio reinsurance platform and became a senior managing director in 2007. He holds a BA in economics and finance from Providence College. Greg is among the nation’s foremost experts in structuring reinsurance companies, risk analysis and building out enterprise platforms for large dealer groups. He is a frequent speaker and contributor to AICPA, among other related industry organizations, and assists automotive law firms in valuations, disputes and alternative structures.
Adam Lamnin is the former executive vice president and CEO of Assurant Health Segment and president and CEO of Assurant Employee Benefits Segment. Over the course of his 27-year tenure with Assurant Inc., he managed the company’s automobile business and leveraged organic growth, acquisitions and market expansion initiatives to expand from a regional warranty provider into a nationwide, industry-leading organization. He joined the board of advisors of National Automotive Experts and NWAN in 2019, one year prior to the company’s acquisition by Portfolio. Lamnin is a graduate of the University of Florida’s Warrington College of Business, where he majored in accounting and finance.
Brent Griggs served as president and CEO of Portfolio from 2013 to 2023, overseeing the company’s rapid growth from a small but powerful regional player to a top 10 F&I provider and administrator and the industry leader in reinsurance. Prior to joining Portfolio, he served as chairman and CEO for Lyndon Property Insurance Co. and led the asset protection division for Protective Life. He also was the co-founder of AutoQuest Administration Services, a national VSC marketer and administrator. As chairman of the board, Brent leads a group of experts dedicated to driving further success for Portfolio and its valued partners.
John Hunt joined Abry in 2004 and currently serves as chief investment officer and investment committee chair. John previously served as fund manager for Abry’s senior equity funds and Heritage buyout funds. Prior to joining Abry, John was a general partner at Boston Ventures Management, a media and communications-focused private equity fund and an investment banking analyst at Bear Stearns. John is a graduate of the University of Massachusetts Amherst.
